CAFCC: "We Will Finnish The Job In Nigeria " - Jaaraf Manager
By Sampson Adedeji
After securing a 3 - 1 win over Nigeria's Kano Pillars in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation cup, manager of ASC Jaaraf of Senegal, Malik Daf, has said they will complete the job in Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Despite scoring early in the match, the Senegalese club went ahead to defeat the Nigerians 3 - 1 to make second leg more difficult for the later.
Daf said is not happy about the performance of his team in the first half but like the way they approached the game in the second stanza.
"We did not get into the match properly with this goal conceded too early. Which made it a bit difficult.
We managed to find our game after 20 minutes. The rhythm started to come bit by bit. We started to combine, to make calls.
But, to be honest, I'm not totally happy with the first half, even though the team was ahead on the scoreboard. On the other hand, we did a good second part. The team pulled together.
To have players like Kane (Madicke), Tendeng, Assane Mbodjii, who know how to play the ball well, you have to take advantage of it otherwise you are dead. Above all, opposite, the opponent was en bloc.
It was necessary to play with the ball, try to eliminate, to create the surplus, to make calls. That's what we did. And they scored three goals.
We didn't even have the chance to score more goals, but I'm not going to blame them too much. We will try to correct all this in order to start the second leg well.
Qualification will be played in Nigeria and it won't be easy, but we have the means to do it," he told wiwsports.
Kano Pillars will overturn the deficit when they meet for the second leg next week in Nigeria.
