One of Nigeria's representative, Bayelsa has been drawn against Guinea's AS Ashanti Golden Boys for the first preliminary round. Bayelsa United took the country by storm when against all odds they won the Nigeria's Aiteo Cup to pick up one of the continental slot. The Nigeria National League side will hope to continue their fairytale run but this time on the continent but first will have to cross the hurdle of the preliminary round against Ashanti Gold. The first leg will come up in Ghana between 10th to 12th of September 2021 and the reverse fixture between 17th to 19th of September 2021. Nigeria's other representative, Enyimba FC will not be playing in the first preliminary round
