Aftermath of suffering heavy defeat in the first leg quarter final of the confederation cup, captain of Enyimba International, Austin Oladapo has appealed to the fans and supporters of the club over the outcome of the game, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The People's Elephant surprisingly capitulated 4-1 to their Egyptian opponent, FC Pyramids to the surprise of their fans and supporters.
Oladapo while speaking on Lagos based radio, Brila FM, he pleaded on behalf of the team and assured them that they will turn out a better result in the second leg.
"It was a very sad day for us as a family, we never expected that after playing so well in the first half, coming back to lose concentration, we just have to learn from a game like this and move on."
"As the captain of the team, I really want to apologise to Nigerians and our die hard fans, I know they were expecting much better performance from us but it turned to be the other way."
"I just want them to keep believing in the team even as we go all out in the return leg in Aba," he said.
Enyimba will host FC Pyramids in the second leg of the quarter final at Enyimba international stadium in Aba this weekend, a 3 goal margin is required to progress into the semi final.
