CAFCC: Kano Pillars Depart For Senegal

Nigeria flag bearer in the CAF Confederation Cup, Kano Pillars have departed the shore of the country for Senegal for the first leg of the preliminary round of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigeria Federation Cup champions were drawn against Senegalese side ASC Jaaraf at the preliminary stage of the tournament.
The Mai Su Gida boys left the country on Thursday night for Senegal and are expected to arrived in the West Africa country in the early hours of Friday.
The team was motivated earlier in the day as the state government cleared all the outstanding match bonuses and allowances owing the players.
The return leg of the competition will take place in Nigeria next week.
Kano Pillars who were 2018/19 Aiteo Cup champions were given the nod to represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup because the 2019/2020 edition of Federation Cup could not hold due to Coronavirus outbreak that affected the game of football across the world.
