CAFCC: Rangers suffer defeat in Togo
By Sampson Adedeji
Togo continues its dominance over Nigeria teams in recent time, with another victory over Enugu Rangers in the CAF Confederation cup match played in Lome on Sunday.
BSN reports that Togo through Sparrow Hawks few weeks ago defeated Nigeria's Super Eagles B team in the 2020 Championship of African Nations and also in the WAFU competition.
Having successfully defeated Nigeria home-based team two consecutive times at CHAN and WAFU qualifiers, Togo superiority over the West African continued on Sunday as ASCK defeat Rangers 2-1 in the first leg of the confederation cup play off.
It was host who opened the scoring in the 29th minute before Rangers leveled in the 33rd minute of the game.
As the Flying Antelopes fans already think they have secured a draw and got valuable away points in their kitty, hosts scored again in the 90th minute to condemn the Nigeria side to another gnashing defeat.
Rangers will seek to overturn the first leg result when they host second leg next week in Enugu with winners over the two legs progressing to group stage of the competition.
