CAFCL: Ajayi confirms Al-Ahly stay

Ahead of the CAF champions League second leg match against Canon Sports of Guinea, Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Junior Ajayi has reiterated his commitment to the Egypt champions Al Ahly, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

BSN reports that Ajayi who scored a brace last week in his team 3-2 win over rivals Zamalek in the Egyptian league will be a boost going into the champions league encounter.

All eyes will again be on Ajayi when Al-Ahly take Canon Sports in the second leg as the Egyptian side eye the group stage of the competition.

Following his amazing performance speculations has surrounded his future with Al-Ahly with European major club sorting for his signature.

The skilful striker on Wednesday quashed his exits rumour as the Red Devil gear up for the crucial tie.

“It’s not important who plays or scores as long as the team is winning”, Ajayi said this week. “When I had the chance to play (against Zamalek) I gave my best and you saw what happened.

“I never said I’m leaving Al-Ahly. I am happy here and I have a contract that lasts for three more years” he said.

Dream Team VI star joined Ahly from Sfaxien of Tunisia and was also played a key role in Rio 2016 Olympic games to help Nigeria secured a Bronze medal.
