CAFCL: Al Ahly, Kaizer Chiefs, CR Belouizdad Pass Quarter-Final First Leg Successfully By Uche Dozie Defending Champions Al Ahly SC of Egypt, Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa and CR Belouizdad of Algeria had comfortable wins over their opponents in Saturday's CAF Champions league quarter final matches BSNSports.com.ng reports. The three teams who were at home put themselves in good stead for likely qualification to the next round by winning with atleast a two-goal margin. Kaizer Chiefs were all gun blazing crushing their Tanzania giants, Simba FC by four goals to nil to the surprise of many. Despite a poor run in the league which prompted a protest by it fans, the Chiefs showed great spirit to conquer the favourites before the tie at the FNB Stadium. The South African team were up by two goals to nil in the first half as Eric Mathoho's 6th minutes header and another header from Samir Nurković in the 34th minutes prepared the Amakhosi for a huge win. Nurković scored the brace in the 57th minutes while Castro put any plan of Simba coming back into the game to an end with another header in the 63rd minutes to make it 4-0. Meanwhile, Africa Club of the century, Al Ahly showed no frailties as they despatch Mamalodi Sundown by two goals at the Al-Salam Stadium. The Red Devils took a first half lead as Taher Mohamed net the first goal from outside the box in the 23rd minutes. Salah Mohsen doubled the lead after Denis Onyago's blunder to settle the tie. Algerian Champions CR Belouizdad, scored one each in both halves to conquer Tunisian ES Tunis at the 20 August 1955 Stadium. Belouizdad took the lead at halftime through Zakaria Draoui's goal. Draoui finished off Housseyn Selmi's brilliant pass in the 2nd minutes. Amir Sayoud made it two in the final 10 minutes to secure the win.
