CAFCL: Al Ahly, Kaizer Chiefs, Esperance, Wydad AC Moves To The Semis By Uche Dozie After the conclusion of the return leg of the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League on Saturday, four teams made it to the last four, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Reigning Champions, Al Ahly SC of Egypt, Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa, Esperance of Tunisia and Wydad AC of Morocco all booked their places in the semi-final. African club of the century progressed to their 17th semi finals as Coach Pitso's boys had one over his former club Mamelodi Sundowns at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. The Red Devils triumph 3-1 on aggregate after a one all draw at the end of ninety minutes. The first leg ended two goals to nil in favour of the Egyptian Champions. It was Al Ahly who scored first in the 12th minutes of the game through Yasser Ibrahim, but Mosa Lebusa's header restored parity for the Sundowns. Kaizer Chiefs reached the semi-final for the first time in their first participation in the tournament despite losing by three goals to nil. The comeback history couldn't be repeated as Bocco's brace and Chama’s late strike were not enough for the Tanzanian giants to advance. Tunisian side Esperance overturned a two goal deficit to win two nil at regulation time and win on penalties against CR Belouizdad. Second half goals by Abdelraouf Benguit and Mohamed Ben Romdhane brought Esperance back to game. Farouk Ben Mustapha after being subbed in the 82nd minute, the Esperance goalkeeper brilliantly stops 2 penalties to send his team to their 11th Champions League semi-finals. Wydad AS got to their third semi finals in a row after a one nil win over MC Alger. The Moroccans won 2-1 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw in the first leg. Walid El Karti scored a last minute goal for Wydad. The Semi-Finals paring will see Wydad AC go against Kaizer Chiefs while Espérance Tunis will lock horns against Al Ahly SC. The first leg of the ties comes up on the 18 and 19th of June 2021 with the second leg to be played between 25 and 26 June 2021.
