CAFCL: Al Mereikh Promised Cash Reward To Beat Enyimba

  By Sampson Adedeji With few days to the second leg, first round of the CAF champions league match between Nigeria's Enyimba international and Al Mereikh of Sudan, pressure continue to mount on the two teams, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Sudanese champion defeated Nigeria side 3-0 in the first leg match played at the Al Hilal stadium few weeks ago. The news emanating from the team camp indicated that the president of the team Ahmed Taha Al-Tazi has promised the team $250,000 as cash reward to stop Enyimba international in Aba. The People Elephant defeated the Burkinafaso side Rahimo FC 2-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round while Al Mereikh thrashed AS Otoho of Congo 3-1 over the two legs. Sudanese side Al Hilal stopped two time African champion at this stage last season and they dropped to the confederation cup where they played up to quarter final before losing to Horoya of Guinea. The return leg is slated for Aba international stadium on Wednesday 6th of January 2021.
