CAFCL fallout: Kano Pillars chairman appeals to supporters

Following shocking exit from this year's CAF Champions League, chairman of Kano Pillars Surajo Shaaibu has appealed to the club fans and supporters to stick with the team despite their present situation.

Pillars exited the competition on Sunday after they lost to Asante Kotoko of Ghana 2-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, thereby crashing out on 4-3 aggregates, BSN Sports can report.

The chairman appealed to the fans and further explained that the club has swung into action ahead of the new League season.

"We are back from Ghana but very unfortunate we lost the game and we accept it in good fate, Surajo told BSN Sports.

"As you all know, we are here to finish the work of our predecessor but things didn't go according to plan for us but we thank God. He continued.

"As you can see in my dress, I am ready for the challenge, I thanked Kano people for what they have done to us, I thanked my players and technical crew.

"I am appealing to Kano state people as sport loving people and the governor, that we are ready to go ahead with the task ahead of us.

"We are preparing starring from this week by playing the U23 national team for a friendly, this shows that we are preparing for the Nigerian league coming up next month and the Aiteo Cup.

"I am still appealing to Kano fans to exercise patience and come put en-masses to support their darling team,' he concluded.

Pillars finished second the league last season behind Enyimba and emerged Champions of the Aiteo cup.
