Barely four months to the start of the delayed 2021 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has announced money budgeted for the tournament, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Cameroon is supposed to have staged the competition in 2019 but they were stripped off due to non-readiness.
Egypt staged the 2019 edition and Cameroon was given another opportunity to host the 2021 edition.
According to the organizer, €20 million has been budgeted for the biennial competition that will feature 24 teams for the second time.
The competition was supposed to have taken place earlier this year but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic that disrupted sporting activities across the world.
The competition has been scheduled to start from January 9th to 6th of February, 2021.
