Cameroon Friendly Games Suppose To Be Used As Opportunity To Expose Home-based Players - Babayaro By Niyi Busari Ex-international, Emmanuel Babayaro frowned at the lost opportunity to expose the Nigeria home-based players in the double headers friendly games between Nigeria Super Eagles and Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Austria. The Olympic gold medallist insisted that the bedrock of Nigerian football lies in the future of the home-based players adding that the friendly games between Nigeria and Cameroon should have been used to test home-based players. In an exclusive interview with BSN Sports, the former Super Eagles goalkeeper said, "If you ask me, each time we talk about development or opportunity to test players. Why can't we test our boys from home? We just got beaten by Cameroon but we would have given the home-based the opportunity to showcase their talents and gain that necessary confidence they need moving forward. It's not enough to condemn these players that they're home-based, they lack exposure and experience." He said. He added, "The question is, what are we doing to give them what they lacked? These young men opportunity to get that experience they lack, upgrade themselves technically." "We have just lost to Cameroon. And instead of losing and get criticised, why don't we lose and get some positives? The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon pipped their Nigeria counterparts 1-0 in the first leg of the double friendly game on Friday in Austria while the second game comes up in the European country next Tuesday.
