Cameroon Minister of Sports Says CHAN 2020 Will Kick off in April

​The 2020 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) finals which will be hosted by Cameroon will now be played in April and not between January and February as previously mentioned, BSNSports.com.ng can reveal.

The bi-annual tournament has always been held between January and February and reports now suggest there has been some changing with Confederation of African Football set to confirm the reports.

This new development was made known by the Cameroon's Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi who announced on Wednesday that the host country will stage the tournament in April next year.

A total number of 16 countries including hosts Cameroon will participate in the next year's championship. Last edition's finalist, Nigeria failed to qualify and will not participate having lost the ticket to Togo national team.

The dates for the tournament have been set for April 4 – 24, 2020 - respectively.
