  The Super Eagles squad has departed Nigeria for Cape Verde for their second match group stage FIFA World Cup qualification against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde. The squad departed the country at about 2:00am, Monday aboard a flight via Air Peace Airline from Lagos to Cape Verde capital city, Praia. Nigeria face Cape Verde on the 7th of September at the at the Adérito Sena Municipal Stadium, in Mindelo. The Super Eagles will hope to take advantage of the absence of fans at the stadium to grab their second win of the qualification series. The World Cup qualifier match between Nigeria and Cape Verde will be played behind closed doors. This is in adherence to FIFA’s Covid-19 protocols. According to report, the Cape Verdean Football Federation FCF received a communication from CAF, stating that they would have to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria without fans in their second group stage game in the World Cup qualifiers.
