Carabao Cup: Iwobi Happy With His Performance

By Sampson Adedeji

English Premier League side, Everton FC, on Wednesday thrashed Fleetwood 5-2 in the Third Round of Carabao cup and Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi was delighted on his contribution to the victory, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Arsenal player missed the match-day one of the Premier League and was also not available for Everton in the last round of the cup game.

He made a return to the team last weekend and was instrumental to the Tofees 5-2 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

His first start of the season was against Fleetwood and he was able to make it count as he scored once and assisted in the goal.

"Our performance tonight showed the confidence and the quality we have," Iwobi told Sky Sports.
"We've got strength in depth and were able to rotate the team and get a performance today so it shows we have a good team for the season.
"It was good experience for me to get 90 minutes under my belt as I'm trying to get fit for all competitions so it was good for the manager to give me the opportunity today.
"Everyone wants to play so hopefully I can give the manager a migraine and get involved as much as I can," he concluded.
