  Carabao Cup: Mikel To Miss Stoke City Versus Tottenham Clash By Sampson Adedeji Despite working hard in training in order to regain his full fitness former Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder and captain, John Mikel Obi, has been ruled out of Carabao Cup match against English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The manager of the team, Michael O'Neill revealed this during the press conference on Tuesday that the former Nigeria international suffered a minor setback in training last week as he continued to work on his recovery and as such will be ruled out of their next game. “John won’t be fit in time for the game. It was a game he was very keen to be involved in but he had a little set back on Friday and we’ve just got to manage him over this week for the game on Saturday to see if he’s ready for that,” O’Neil said. Mikel missed the club last six matches due to injury and may return for the weekend game. Potters will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup quarter final on Wednesday at the Britannia stadium.
