Victory over Real Madrid excites Omeruo

CD Leganes defeated Real Madrid 1-0 in the second leg of the Spanish Copa Del Rey at the Estadio Burtaque, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was in cloud nine on Wednesday night as his club CD Leganes defeated Real Madrid in the second leg of Copa del Rey.

Since joining the Spanish side on loan from Chelsea last summer, he has been an integral part of the team.

Leganes hosted European champions and defeated them 1-0 courtesy goal from Martin Braithwaith in the 30th minutes of the game.

Omeruo reacted after the game, revealing his excitement on one side and sadness on the other side.

" Am actually proud of myself and my team mates for tonight victory against Real Madrid.. unfortunately it wasn’t enough to take us to the next round, But what a game.. #vamosleganes"

The win was not enough to take Leganes to the next round, having lost the first leg 3-0 at Santiago Bernabeu last week.

CD Leganese crashed out 3-1 on aggregate.
