- CECAFA U17: South Sudan Disqualified

The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) has confirmed that the South Sudan team has been disqualified from the Zonal Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) U-17 qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
South Sudan’s U-17 team was disqualified after four players failed the Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI) test. According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) rules, a team if disqualified if just one or more of the players fails the test that helps to determine age.
South Sudan was meant to start their campaign against Uganda Cubs in the opening match at the Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu Stadium Saturday.
The Zonal qualifiers will now have six teams battling for the two slots.
The six teams that remain in the competition include; Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Djibouti).
The best two teams will qualify for the Afcon U-17 to take place next year between March 13-31 in Morocco.
