  Champion of Champions Wrestling Competition Gets Underway In Yenagoa By Admin The inaugural Baraza Champion of Champions National Invitational Wrestling Competition got underway in Yenagoa on Saturday with 55 Wrestlers across the country jostling for pride and honours. The competition which is being used to prepare the nation's wrestlers for the Africa Wrestling Championship in El Jedidah, Morocco in April this year saw some exciting contests on the mat at the Dynamite Wrestling gym in the Bayelsa State capital. Star wrestler, Odunayo Adekuroye who is rated number two in the globe, 3 time world championship medalist and 6 time African champion shortly after displaying her prowess in the 57 kilogram category told Radio Nigeria that with the keen competition it would put them in shape for the African Championship and the Olympics. Four time African champion, John Emmanuel Ogbonna wrestled in the 74 kg free style event and had no serious challenge despatching his opponents, hoping to maintain his number one status. President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali expressed satisfaction with the quality of competition on day one of the fiesta. The three day Champion of Champions Wrestling competition which enters Day Two today (Sunday) will end tomorrow (Monday).
