Dele-Bashiru sustained the injury few weeks back in a championship game and he has been ruled out for a long period. He has already taken the first tentative steps on the road to recovery and has been spotted around the training ground during the last week following surgery in London to repair the anterior cruciate ligament he damaged in his left knee at Reading. “I went to see him and it's important when you work with people every day and they are low, you show them support. He's originally from Manchester and lives down here on his own so he hasn't got much support, so we went to see him to give him a boost.” “I've told him not to overthink too much,” said Chalobah. “It's football and these things happen. He needs to clear his head space as it's a long time of rehab. It can be as long as you want it to be and it's important you stay positive. You can find other interests and keep your mind occupied away from football as much as possible. It's hard to wake up every day and not be able to train. So, he should try and enjoy the process and use it as an opportunity to learn about your body, figure things out and just learn from what's going on and listen to it. It felt like the manager was giving him more of an opportunity, a lot more attention and he was doing well, playing well and training well, so it was unfortunate the injury came against Reading.
