  Championship: Nigeria Youngster Signs Contract Extension With Middlesbrough By Sampson Adedeji Sam Folarin has signed a contract extension that will tie him to the club until 2023 at the earliest. The 20-year-old has been rewarded for the progress he has made since joining from Tooting and Mitcham in the summer of 2019. After featuring regularly for our Under-23s last term, the speedy attacker has stepped up to work with the first team since the arrival of manager Neil Warnock. He featured throughout the pre-season warm up games and after making his senior team debut against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup in September, he made his league debut against Norwich City at the Riverside nine days ago when he came off the bench for the game against Derby County and Huddersfield. Warnock says the player’s extended contract is fully deserved. “It’s progression from pre-season,” said the boss. “He came to Cornwall and impressed me with his attitude and how he did. “Training and playing with the pros has given him a massive lift, and he’s deserved it. He’ll be contributing to the team from now on.” Folarin’s extended contract comes hot on the heels of both Anfernee Dijksteel and Jonny Howson agreeing new deals.
