CHAN 2020; Libya set to replace Tunisia

Following the withdrawal of Carthage Eagles of Tunisia from the Championship of African Nations ( CHAN) 2020, the Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has given Libya a green light to replace them.

Tunisia withdrew from the biennial competition after the local clubs refused to release their key players for the tournament, BSN Reports.

Tunisia eliminated Libya in the final round of the qualifier, and the law of the competition, '' if a team withdraw after its qualifications in the final tournament, but before its actual start, it shall be replaced by the team classified next in the group of the team in question in default, the group to which belong the forfeiting team shall composed of the three teams''

African soccer governing on Monday notified the Libya Football Federation on the development and gave them till 28th January to respond.

The competition is slated for Cameroon from 4th to 25th of April, 2020
