CHAN 2020 Qualifier; Amapakabo to lead home Eagles to Lome

Despite speculations surrounding his confirmation as permanent Coach of the National teams of the U23 Eagles and Home-based Eagles coach Imama Amapakabo has been appointed as the head coach of Home based Eagles for the upcoming qualifying matches.

BSN reports that the Home based Eagles are scheduled to face Hawks of Togo in the first leg of qualifying fixtures of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) this weekend, .

The Nigeria football governing body on Tuesday make the pronouncement that Amapakabo will lead the Team out to Lome on Friday for match slated to take place on Sunday.

Apart from the CHAN 2020 qualifier, Amapakabo will also be in charge of the team for the 2nd edition of WAFU Nations cup holding in Thies, Senegal from 28th of September.

In the last edition, Nigeria finished runner up behind host Morocco at the 2018 CHAN competition, losing 4-1 in the final.
