Charleroi SC Revived My Dying Career - Osimhen

Super Eagles and Lille striker, Victor Osimhen has said that Charleroi Sporting Club came to his rescue why his career was almost dead at Wolfsburg ding that he felt like he was in the wilderness during his spell at Wolfsburg, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Osimhen, 21, said the problem at Wolfsburg started when he sustained a shoulder injury and have to be training in isolation, he, however, joined the main team when he was fit but he was struggling to have game action.

Despite the challenges, he said he was determined and focus to be one of the best striker in the world and his move to Charleroi got him back on track.

"My brother and dad were with me in Wolfsburg but both of them left after one month, then i had shoulder injury. Everything was like hell. There are many side talks that many U17 stars never succeeded after the world cup. I was determined to prove then wrong because the others are there to defend their names i am Osimhen." He said on Instagram on Thursday.

He said Charleroi Sporting Club president, Mehdi Bayat's call to have him in his team revived his career. He added that having playing time at Charleroi SC brought back the confidence in him.

"Then when it is 5 days to the end of the transfer windows, the President of Charleroi SC called me and i was happy after discussing with him. I told him that i can only come to the club only if will have playing and he assured me that i will be having playing time in the club.

"I went there to prove something because i was eager to start playing immediately. I am grateful to Chaleroi president for reviving my dying career."

The Nigerian forward has scored 18 goals for Lille this season. He scored 13 goals in the French Ligue 1, 2 in the Uefa Champions League, 2 in the Coupe de La Ligue and 1 in the Coupe de France.
