Chelsea confirms Aina departure, wish him well
After much speculations, English premier league side Chelsea has confirmed the departure of Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Ola Aina to Italian Serie A side FC Torino, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Aina, a Nigerian international, started his Chelsea career as a right winger before moving into defence and establishing himself as a mobile full-back capable of playing on either side of the pitch, or on occasion at centre-back.
Chelsea announced his departure via club website on Tuesday after the Italian side exercised the clause in his loan deal.
"Everyone at Chelsea Football Club would like to thank Ola for his services and we wish him the best of luck for the next stage in his career," the club stated
Aina made his Chelsea debut in a League Cup victory over Bristol Rovers in August 2016 under the management of Antonio Conte, and by the end of that season he had six appearances to his name, including three as a substitute in our victorious Premier League campaign.
His last game was the 4-3 win over Watford the game after we had won the title.
Aina who is currently with Nigeria's Super Eagles in Ismaila Egypt preparing for 2019 African Cup of Nations made 32 appearances and scoring once for Torino.
