Chelsea considering firing Frank Lampard with replacements being looked at

Chelsea
Frank Lampard's future at Chelsea is under serious threat with reports indicating the club is ready to relieve him of his duties following recent poor results.  The Blues were humiliated at home by Manchester City on Sunday evening in the Premier League their fourth defeat in the last seven matches. Three first-half goals condemned Lampard's side to the defeat, and even though Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a consolation, the Blues looked out of sorts for long periods. The defeat saw them drop to eighth in the table, three points above Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, who have been far from impressive in recent weeks. According to The Athletic, the powers that be at the club are already exploring options for Lampard's job if the results don't improve in the coming weeks. Chelsea face Fulham, Leicester, and Wolves in their next three Premier League games, and they could prove key for the former midfielder's future at the club. After a difficult first season in charge that ended in Chelsea qualifying for the Champions League, Lampard was handed a hefty £220 million transfer kitty and strengthened in key areas and hopes were high ahead of the current campaign. And after a promising start, the team seems to be experiencing similar failings to last season, particularly failing to break down stronger opponents and especially teams in the top half of the table. There have also been reports that Lampard favors some players, which is causing a rift in the dressing room. Immediate former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has already been mentioned as a possible candidate in case Lampard is shown the door, with former Juventus man Massimiliano Allegri available as well.
