Earlier before his arrival, Kaizer Chiefs goal tender, Daniel Akpeyi, UD Almeria striker, Sodiq Umar, Orlando Pirate defender, Olisa Ndah, Enyimba goalkeeper, John Noble and Union Berlin striker, Taiwo Awoniyi were the early birds to hit the camp since it was declared opened on Wednesday. The Super Eagles on its official Facebook page posted, "Update! Chidera Ejuke has arrived. 6 players in camp. The three-time African champions are expected to leave Nigeria for the venue of the 33rd AFCON on January 5, 2022. The tournament kicks off January 9 and ends February 6.
