Chris Green Clears The Air On His Stand About Rohr
By Sampson Adedeji
Former Chairman of Nigeria Football FederationTtechnical Committee Barrister Chris Green has shed more light on his position about the head coach of Nigeria Super Eagles Gernot Rohr.
The future of the Franco-German gaffer has been a subject of discussions in recent time due to his current deal that will expire on June 2020, BSN Reports.
"I didn't say Gernot Rohr is not good for the Super Eagles, what I was trying to say is that, forgetting Rohr but as an expatriate I do not think he has giving us what we really desire and what do we desire?
"Winning championship and tournaments that is all we need is not qualification alone, doing very well at the world cup .
"Getting Gernot Rohr and a the success that past expatriate we've gotten to coach Super Eagles, he should have giving us at least a second round baton or a quarter final but he didn't give us that.
"Now getting him to qualifying for the AFCON, if our own Stephen Keshi could give us a trophy, I should think that been an expatriate, coming highly recommended, with so much money, the least we should be asking for is giving us the birthright to winning the trophy at everyone we participate.
"That is exactly what I'm looking for but if we are looking for third place, Onigbinde gave us silver, he's a Nigeria coach, so many of them, Amodu and the rest of them, we got bronze, I think 6 third place positions we has so far.
Third is not something we should be clapping an expatriate for," he stated.
Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr's contract which expires in June 2020 will soon be extended as he confirmed receipt of contract papers from his employers, the Nigeria Football Federation.
