Christopher Giwa Resumes As NFF President, Promises Brighter Future For Nigerian Football

By Admin Following Annual General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation that took place on 26th August 2014 where Barrister  Chris Giwa led board was elected into the NFF Executive Committee to serve for four years. Few months later another election was conducted in  Warri, Delta state where Amaju Pinnick led board was elected despite the court order stopping the latter from conducting the election. This morning, Monday July 2nd, the atmosphere at the glasshouse is once again boiled up, when Chris Giwa board resumes as the authentic NFF president with armed policemen to enforce the Supreme court judgement. Christopher Giwa arrived at the glasshouse around 11am and went straight to the offices to greet the staff on duty at the NFF headquarters in Zone 7 before addressing them (NFF Staff) in the board room. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng in Abuja, Giwa said, he will not waste time deliberating on what has gone, rather he will roll out plans as to how Nigerian football will not remain where it is today. He promised to support all the national teams particularly the Falconets  that will be at the FIFA Women U-20 World cup in France next month. He stated further that his board has no plan in disrupting the Nigerian Professional Football League as they are preparing to kick off again after the world cup break. "We are here today by the virtue of mandate we got at the Annual General Assembly of the NFF that took place on 26th August 2014 at Chida hotel, where we elected into the NFF Executive Committee to serve for four years, as well as the Supreme Court interpretation. " We have plans on ground for all the national teams which we will start to implement after our next board  meeting on Friday. I know what Nigerians want is positive result and my prayer is to get the needed results for all the national teams. Though, it is one thing to have a good plan and programs and another to get the needed results but I know with God on our side, our national teams will make all Nigerians proud once again."  Chris Giwa also spoke on the Nigerian Football League as he promised not to disrupt the status quo as he hopes the league resumes soonest.
