Super Eagles forward, Samuel Chukwueze brilliancy was not enough to save Villareal from defeat as Espanyol shocked the Yellow Submarine at home, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

David Lopez put the visitors in front in the 5th minute before Raul De Tomas double the advantage two minutes after the commencement of the second half.

Javi Lopez who was cautioned in the 32nd minute was sent off in the 59th minute for the second bookable offence reducing the visiting team to ten.

Former Arsenal forward scored from the spot for the Yellow Submarine in the 62nd minute after so much pressure in the defense when the numerical advantage started counting for Villareal.

Espanyol then tighten their defense for the remaining 28 minutes and went away with a 2-1 victory as the centre referee Pablo Gonzales sounded his whistle to signal the end of the encounter.

Villareal are 9th on the log with 28 points from 20 matches.
