Coach of the national under 19 handball male team, Emeka Nnamani has promised that Nigerians will see a different team as they face host, Macedonia at the ongoing IHF World Youth Championship.
Nigeria, making her debut at the world championship, lost the first match to Bahrain by a 36-28 score and coach Emeka Nnamani believes it's time for the cadet team to push beyond their weight.
While acknowledging the difficulty in playing the host nation, Coach Emeka is confident that his boys will win the match.
"Well under normal circumstances, I am expecting a good match and a win. more also to a free injury match". He said.
On the tactics he will make use of against Macedonia, coach Nnamani says his team will play a pressing defense and not to allow the opponent more room to penetrate.
"The defense formation will be changed to 3-in 2 out, pressing defense so as not allow them closer to the line in order for to avoid much 7 metres throws as Bahrain had almost nine 7metres throws which ensured their victory against us.
On the offensive, we will be more disciplined with balls and run with the balls to get goals within a short time" coach Emeka Nnamani said.
Nigeria will hope pull a shock victory over Macedonia in order to have a realistic chance of qualifying for the next round to at least meet the quarter final target set for the team by the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN)
