By Admin
Osun State Ministry of Youth and Sports has described the demise of the former Super Falcons Assistant Coach, Mudasiru Ademola Yusuf as a huge loss to the State's Sports sector.
A statement by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Mr. Yemi Lawal and the Special Adviser to Governor on Youth and Sports, Aremo Gboyega Adelabu stated that the former BCC Lions of Gboko gaffer was one of the few veteran Osun coaches who carved niches for himself through grassroot football talent discovery and nurturing.
"We receive the news of the death of Coach Mudasiru Yusuf with shock as he was one of the few, experienced football coaches in Osun whose passion for the game was unequalled.
"Even after his retirement few years ago, he was always at the Osogbo Township Stadium to share his experience with upcoming coaches and offer pieces of advice to players on how to be successful in the round leather game."
"Aside his sojourn in Nigeria male and female leagues, his years and wealth of experience as Assistant Coach of Nigeria's National Teams - Golden Eaglets and Super Falcons, coupled with about 25 years of active service in the Osun State Sports Council as the football head coach will be greatly missed,' concluded the statement.
Mr. Lawal and Aremo Adelabu prayed God to grant late Yusuf eternal rest and grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
'Coach Muda', as he was popularly called passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at a private hospital in Oshogbo after a brief illness at the age of 66.
