Communique
  COMMUNIQUE OF THE INAUGURAL COUNCIL MEETING (VIRTUAL) OF THE PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (PFAN) HELD ON THE 14TH OF JANUARY 2021 FROM THE UNION HEADQUARTERS, 6th FLOOR, WING C, NIGERIA REINSURANCE BUILDING, PLOT 784a, HERBERT MACAULAY WAY, CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT, ABUJA. (1) Players Welfare It was resolved that the union apply new and pragmatic approach in promoting and protecting the welfare of all Nigeria players. (2) The Union agreed to adopt the Dialog and Diplomacy First as this administration's policy towards resolutions. 3. The Union paid special tribute to its founding fathers, Harrison Jalla and Austin Popo and also gave kudos to the current PFAN's administration's rebranding drive. 4. Funds Drive It was unanimously agreed that the union adopt more ingenious method in generating funds, which can be either by engaging corporate bodies, government and other business concern and engagement through partnership etc. 5. Creation of Committees It was resolved that critical committees be set up to help drive the policies and direction of the union goals at departmental levels, it was also agreed that the Welfare and Constitution Drafting Committee be giving utmost priority at this stage. 6. Project Drive The meeting agreed and resolved that project identification and effective implementation are critical to sustaining a vibrant and functional union, there it was submitted that Advocacy and Players enlightenment should be of priority. 7. Partnership It was unanimously agreed that the union cannot achieve her goals in isolation, therefor the union must partner with progressive organizations within and outside the football industry through effective consultations, dialogue, diplomacy and strategic planning and approach for the general good of the union. 8. Union Dues It was unanimously agreed for an effective and functional union dues regime be created which will cover all members of the union from current players, ex players and other affiliated members. 9. PFAN appreciates the efforts of the Hon minister of youths and sports, the NFF , LMC and the NWFL for making the NPFL and NWPFL 2021 season a reality despite the challenges of COVID 19 and their support in making the Union's merger a reality. 10. PFAN also urges the management of other tiers of leagues NNL and NLO do their possible best to start the 2020/2021 season. Communique Drafting Committee: a. Comrade Barr.
