Comply With Stay At Home Directive - FCT Coaches Association Urges Players, Clubs

The Federal Capital Territory Coaches Association has urged footballers, clubs and academies to adhere to the stay at home directive by the federal government to curb the spread of coronavirus in Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr Godwin Bamigboye gave this advise through a statement in Abuja on Thursday after some players, clubs were seen playing football despite warning by the Federal Capital Territory Football Association.

The Coaches Association in its Coronavirus awareness statement directed that all the coaches in Abuja to ensure that the Federal Government, FCT FA orders on social distancing by making sure that no football game is played in their communities.

The statement reads; "Football Coaches in the nooks and crannies of the FCT are hereby requested to reach out to all coaches in their communities to ensure that they comply with the stay at home order by the Government as these players have a bright future which should be protected NOW. Players should be advised to exercise and keep fit at home.

"The Leaders at the Area Councils must ensure that all training grounds are closely monitored to be sure of compliance. We don't need the Security Agencies to compel us to do the right thing. Let us keep off from the CROWD for now. Please, report to Coaches SITUATION ROOM at our various platforms."

The FCT FA in a press release warned defaulters to desist from playing the game of football during this covid-19 pandemic. According to the Association, the move is to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
