Congo pull out of hosting 2020 AWCON

With the closure of registration for participating countries, host of 2020 African Women Cup of Nations Congo Brazzaville has pull out from hosting the competition due to financial constraints, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Congo as the host country for the 2020 edition after the completion of 2018 edition in Ghana.

Ministry of Sports in Congo announced the withdrawal on Wednesday afternoon citing financial constraints.

There is no word yet from CAF regarding their withdrawal as the football body already getting ready to conduct the qualifying draws for the competition .

Nigeria's Super Falcons remained the defending champion of the competition going into the 2020 edition.
