Continental Cup: Nigeria Female Team Beats Gambia, Secures Semi-Final Spot By Uche Dozie National women volleyball team punched semifinal ticket in the Continental Cup going on in Agadir, Morocco on Friday, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Volleyball Falcons edged stubborn Gambian side after three matches played. Just like their previous game, the Nigerian ladies had to comeback to emerge conquerors against Gambia. Amara and Franco were beaten by Gambia's Gaye and Kujabi (22-24, 21-13, 13-15) in the first match. Nigeria's second team of Albertina and Nnoruga gave the team a lifeline winning Tambedou and Cessay in straight set (21-13, 21-16). In the match decided, the golden match, the Nigerian team did the needful to win (21-10, 21-12). Nigeria meets giants Egypt in the semifinal round.
