Amara and Franco were beaten by Gambia's Gaye and Kujabi (22-24, 21-13, 13-15) in the first match. Nigeria's second team of Albertina and Nnoruga gave the team a lifeline winning Tambedou and Cessay in straight set (21-13, 21-16). In the match decided, the golden match, the Nigerian team did the needful to win (21-10, 21-12). Nigeria meets giants Egypt in the semifinal round.
