Coppa Italia: Aina's Torino suffer home defeat

Torino failed to progress to the quarter-final of the Copa Italia after losing 2-0 at home to Fiorentina at the Stadio Olympico Grande on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

It was a day to forget for Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Ola Aina as his club Torino lost at home to Fiorentina.

Torino dominated the fiercely contested encounter but it was the away side who took advantage of two late goals that separated the two sides from the game.

Aina who was all over the pitch was cautioned in the 75th minutes for a dangerous play before Federico Chiesa broke the deadlock in the 87th minutes.

Chelsea loanee was substituted in the 88th minutes for Alex Berenguer before Federico Chiesa made it 2-0 in the 90th minute.

Since joining Torino Aina has been a regular player with the Italia side.
