Ahead of FIFA's next international window, the Council Bureau decided to allow more flexibility regarding player release for national teams and registration periods for players with clubs in competitions which still remain disrupted by the pandemic. of Covid-19. These provisional changes will apply to all international windows of FIFA and all its member associations for men's football, women's football and futsal scheduled until the end of April 2021. All international matches taking place in these windows must apply the FIFA protocol related to Covid-19. Regarding the rules relating to the provision of players for teams, there is a mandatory period of quarantine or self-isolation of at least five (5) days upon arrival at the place of club which is required to make the player available to the national team or at the venue where the national team match is supposed to be played. There is also a restriction on travel to or from any of the above locations. A specific exemption from the competent authorities has not been granted to players of the national team regarding the above measures. FIFA member associations may at any time request the extension or modification of the start and end dates of their season. Ditto for their registration periods which have already started, provided that their duration complies with the maximum limit of 16 weeks.
