Covid 19: Minister Of Sports Confirm Lift Of Ban On Football

  By Sampson Adedeji Minister of Youth and sports Hon Sunday Dare has confirmed the lift of ban on football through his social media handle, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The minister has earlier in the week promised that government will lift ban on contact sports very soon but never confirmed the actual time it will happen. Sporting activities has been on indefinite suspension since March due to outbreak of Corona virus across the World. Chairman Presidential Task Force ( PTF) Boss Mustapha announced the lifting of ban on football without fans and mass gathering. " We welcome the lifting of D ban on football by the PTF. “The lifting of restriction on outdoor activities including football is in line with earlier consultations with Ministry of Youth and Sports and NCDC.However, this is limited to the actual sports itself & not mass gathering”, minister said. Nigeria's Super Eagles is expected to be in action in November for the 2021 African Cup Of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone while the starting date of Leagues is yet to be announce.
