Covid-19 Palliative: Lulu, Mouktar, Oyedeji, Others Donate Cash To Journalists

Prominent and well-meaning Nigerians made cash donation to the Admins of popular WhatsApp platform FCT Football Update as their contributions to cushion the effects of the COVID-19-induced lockdown on Nigerian journalists on the platform.

Speaking during the thanksgiving on Wednesday on the whatsApp group, the chief Admin, Patrick Ngwaogwu during the presentation Wednesday, appreciated the donors and thanked them for their efforts, coming out to the rescue of journalists who are at the forefront during this pandemic and nationwide lockdown.

Patrick, who commended all the donors for their efforts noted that the donations will go a long way in helping the recipients adding that it is necessary to assist journalists at this trying time.

“Some of our members who contributed their hard earned money are appreciated. It is necessary for the Nigerians to respond to the yearning of the platform to help in times like this." Patrick Ngwaogwu told BSN Sports

Some of the donors who were appreciated on the platform were mentioned for recognition and their selfless contribution. Former President of NFF and Proprietor of Fosla Academy, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi donated N20'000.

Chairman of Abia Warriors FC, Founder of Carl Academy and Football College, Umuahia, former Chairman of the NNL and Executive Committee member of the NFF, Pastor Emeka Inyama donated N50,000 to the group.

Olumide Oyedeji a legend in basketball and Super star in the NBA. Former Captain of the Nigerian team to two Olympics Games, winning many laurels in Basketball. donated N40,000

Chairman Bauchi State Football Association and Super Eagles Team Coordinator, Patrick Pascal donated N20,000

Honour Sirawoo is the President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), a Permanent Secretary in Rivers State. He is a man of Honour, and he did not hesitate to 'wire' N50,000 to support the palliative project.

Also, The Authentic Nigerian Football Supporters Club is one that is designed to put smiles on people's face. Its charismatic Chairman Abayomi Ogunjimi did not hesitate to answer our clarion call as he donated N25,000 to the course.

Chairman of FCT Football Association, a grassroot oriented person, Alhaji Abba Mohammed Murthar also donated N150,000.

Dr Ayodeji Olarinoye is the CEO of Sports Medicine Professionals. He was the team Doctor of the National U-17 team in 2013 & 2015, also donates N20,000.

Coach Wakili John popularly known as Waco is the king of Area 3 pitch. He has produced many stars from his Waco Academy. He sent in N5,000 to support the Chairman of the FCT FA where he's a Board member.

An anonymous also donated N100,000
