Cricket Federation Suspends Former President
The Nigeria Cricket Federation Ethics and Disciplinary Committee and the General Assembly unanimously suspended the former president of the Federation Engr. Emeka Onyeama from all Federation activities due to an allegation of gross misconduct and financial misappropriation, pending the outcome of the investigations by the anti-graft agencies.
The Nigeria Cricket Federation converged in Abuja at the Media Center, package B, Abuja National Stadium last Saturday to conduct her Full Council/ Annual General Meeting 2018.
The Federation however enumerated a lot of achievement made over the 12 months of December and also made projections into the coming year 2019.
The successes made included a successful hosting of the ICC World T-20 Africa Qualifier A’ and the ACA T-20 International Championship both in April 2018. Also National U-19 victory and qualification in the U-19 Africa Div.2 Qualifier in Potchefstroom, South- Africa in August 2018 among many numerous achievements made in the outgoing year.
The resolutions by the General Assembly are: The General Assembly ratified the appointment of a new data and finance officer for the Federation.
According to sportinglife.ng, the General Assembly unanimously agreed to continue the services of the external auditor contracted by the Federation. The General Assembly unanimously agreed to the amended NCF constitution.
The General Assembly by majority vote agreed to the compulsory payment of annual affiliation fees by State Cricket Associations.
