Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has released a statement following the club's heavy loss at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday.
The Portuguese cut a frustrated figure at Old Trafford and was lucky just to escape with a yellow card following a tackle on Jone at the tail end of the first half as tempers flew.
Taking to social media, Ronaldo said: “Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want. And this is on us, only on us, because there’s no one else to blame.
“Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support. They deserve better than this, much better, and it’s up to us to deliver. The time is now!”
Ronaldo had thought he had reduced the arrears for
United in the game but his goal was chalked off by the VAR; the player playing the entire game after they were reduced to ten men following the sending off of Paul Pogba.
