CSL: Ighalo fires Shanghai Shenhua to victory

Former Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo brilliant strike was enough for Shanghai Shenhua in their 2-1 league win over Dalian Yifang, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

BSN reports that the former Watford striker returned to action few weeks ago after recovering from the hamstring injury he suffered while representing Nigeria at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

While he was still nursing the injury, Shenhua have been struggling to secure favourable results but Ighalo made his presence count on Sunday as he returned to scoring ways as Shenhua came from a goal down to record a 2- 1 home win against Dalian Yifang.

It was the visitors that shocked the host with an early goal through Belgian international Yannick Carrassco .

Geovane Moreno 25th minute leveled the scoreline for Shenhua before Ighalo pumped up the volume and netted the winning goal in the 38th minute.

All the efforts of the two teams to add to their tally in the second stanza proved abortive and hosts secured maximum three points and moved out of the relegation zone.
