CSL: Martins Completes Shanghai Shenhua Deal To Replace Ighalo

Chinese Super league side Shanghai Shenhua has announced the capture of former Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins on a free transfer, BSNSports.com.ng reports .

The former Newcastle United attacker has been without a club since his departure from Shanghai Shenhua in 2018 due injury.

Obafemi has been training with Shenhua since June in readiness for the new season slated to commence later in July.

According to the club Martins was signed as a replacement for another Nigeria international Odion Jude Ighalo who is still on loan with the English premier league side Manchester United.

The 35 year old netted 19 goals in 40 appearances for Shenhua in his first stint with the club.
