CSL: Shanghai Shenhua Want Ighalo Back
By Sampson Adedeji
Contrary to the reports going around that former Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Odion Jude Ighalo will be signing a permanent deal with Manchester United, the Chinese Super league side Shanghai Shenhua have stated that they want the striker to return ahead of new season.
The Nigerian striker made an encouraging start to life at Manchester United following his surprise Deadline Day move, scoring four times in eight appearances prior to the suspension of the Premier League, BSN Reports.
Shanghai Shenhua offered Ighalo a new 2 year deal this year worth $400,000 a week which might made him more committed to the club.
The Chinese side has said they can only allow Ighalo to stay at Old Trafford if United can pay $20 m for the energetic striker.
Ighalo's current contract expires in December 2022, but Shanghai want to keep him until at least December 2024.
