CWC: Ighalo caged, as Chelsea end Al Hilal’s Club World Cup dreams

CWC:
Odion Ighalo’s Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal were knocked out of the FIFA Club World Cup after they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, BSNSports.com.ng reports. However, it was a different story for Al Hilal, as they faced a more formidable opposition in the semis. Chelsea dominated the game from the very blast of the whistle, they bossed possession, and Al Hilal had to depend on counter-attacks. Chelsea were quite wasteful in front of goal, with Lukaku and Christiensen missing chances early on. The Londoners were clearly the better side in the opening forty-five minutes and deservedly took the lead through Romelu Lukaku who steered the ball into the net from close range after pouncing on a rebound just past the half-hour mark. Al Hilal desperately searched for an equaliser in the second half but were unable to find the target, with Ighalo's efforts blocked by the Chelsea defence in the 58th and 67th minutes. Blues goalkeeper Kepa did not have much to do but made some really good saves when he was tested. Al Hilal will face African champions Al Ahly in the third place playoff also on Saturday.
