Dalung Hosts U19 Cricket African Champion, Promises Govt. Support For World Cup

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung on Tuesday hosted the victorious African champions, Nigeria's U19 national Cricket team in Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Dalung who described the feat as a great send-off achievement for the team to pick the sole world cup ticket at the just concluded U19 African Cricket Nations Cup hosted by Namibia.
In his words, "It is a moment of joy that Nigeria performance is outstanding that they beat all countries to qualify for World cup. Fortunately, it comes at the time of transition which is the best send-off gift I have ever received." Ealing told Basic Sports in Nigeria.
"This shows that Nigerians are talented and can be the best in all spheres of life. It is now the government project as they have qualified for the world cup and I hope the Nigeria Cricket Federation will submit their budget in time because it will last through so many processes before the money will be finally released. The government will do everything to support the team to make sure that they succeed at the world cup." He concluded.
To qualify for the World Cup, the Nigeria U19 Cricket team popularly called the 'Junior Yellow-Green' defeated the host country, Namibia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Sierra Leone in a highly contested competition that started from 15th and ended 24th March 2019.
At the World Cup, Nigeria will play against Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and West Indies.
