Akpeyi saves 2 penalties, as Kaizerchief qualify for Semi final

Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi continues to demonstrate how important he is to the progress of South Africa side, Kaizer Chief.
The Super Eagles goaltender saved two penalties during the shoot out of Telkom Cup quarter final match to qualify his team to the semifinals of the competition.
Akpeyi who saved another penalty last weekend against Mamelodi Sundown moved to Chiefs during winter transfer to replace injured Khune Itumeleng.
Kaizer Chief was again involved in another derby on Saturday against Orlando Pirate in the Telkom knockout competition and Akpeyi came to the rescue.
It was Pirate who took the lead in the 34th minute through a controversial goal but Castro leveled the scoreline for Kaizerchief in the 64th minute.
The game ended 1-1 in regulation time and it was extended to extra time.
Kaizerchief took the lead in the 94th minute but Makaringe leveled again in the 100th minute, when the two team could not be separated, penalty shootout was required to decide who progress.
It was Akpeyi who stole the show as he saved two penalty kicks from Motshwari and Mabaso before Parker scored the decider and ensured Kaizerchief progressed to last four.
Former Chippa United goalkeeper last represent Nigeria in 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt and has made a sensational return to the team for the upcoming 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin and Lesotho this month.
