Danjuma names Oshoala new Super Falcons captain

Ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualifier against Cote d'Ivoire, stand in Nigeria's Super Falcons coach Christopher Danjuma has named FC Barcelona Femeni striker Asisat Oshoala as the team captain, BSNSportscom.ng can report.

BSN Sports reports that forward Desire Oparanozie led Super Falcons to the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup in France, where they finished in round of 16.

Danjuma announced Oshoala on Tuesday at the team training camp in Abuja as the team intensified training for the first leg of the qualifier.

Before Women World Cup, midfielder Rita Chikwelu was the captain of the team, Oparanozie took over from her and was assisted by Oshoala.

Former FC Robo forward will wear the armband when they face Cote d'Ivoire over the two legs.
