Dapo Abiodun Preseason: Gateway FC Vs 3SC Game Ends In Barren Draw

It was no victor, no vanquish as both Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and Gateway FC of Abeokuta, started their campaign in the maiden Dapo Abiodun Pre Season Tourney with a share of the spoils.

The group B match, decided at the Pitch A of the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, saw the Oluyole Warriors threw away a two goal lead to end the tie 2-2.

Gafar Olafimihan benefited from a goalkeeping error by Gateway safehand, who failed to deal with a cross from Opeoluwa Olufemi, to score the opener for the stars in the 9th minute of the encounter.

Both sides barely created any anxious moments in the first half as the Ibadan soccer lords held onto the slender lead to end the first half 1-0.

Shooting Stars started the second half, looking more business like and this paid off in the 60th minute when Ayobami Junior, lashed on a pass from Taye Muritala, took aside his marker, before stylishly finishing to double his team's lead.

Despite having the upper hands, 3SC failed to add to their tally but instead, allowed the Abeokuta based side to come back into the game with a well taken goal.

The goal became the tonic needed by Gateway as they pressed for the leveller which they got in the last of the three additional minutes of the game.

3SC next play Kwara United on Thursday with the kick off fixed for 8am while Gateway will slug it out with Crown FC of Ogbomoso in the sexond match of the day.
